Erica Silver is the Director of National Media Relations and Corporate Communications at Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc.  She brings strategic leadership to the company’s marketing and communications team and builds multi-platform, integrated media relations campaigns for some of the biggest names in the music and entertainment industry.  Recognized as one of the leading practitioners in the industry with nearly two decades of Media and Public Relations experience, Erica designs and implements earned terrestrial and digital media campaigns, and has cultivated a rich perspective on the tools needed for success.  Erica has her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) from the Canadian Public Relations Society, holds a Master of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication with a specialty in Public Relations from Kent State University.

A bilingual, accredited and award-winning communicator, Danielle has held positions of increasing responsibility in a series of complex organizations both in the United Kingdom and Canada over the past ten years. She bring a wealth of government and private sector experience to her positions and has worked on a range of projects from provincial transformation initiatives to national employee communications projects and international sporting events.

Director of Education / Directeur de l’éducation

A global-award-winning communicator, industry thought leader and a published public relations professor with 20 years of diverse experience spanning the corporate, agency, non-profit and consulting sectors.  Heath is the President and Chief Reputation Officer of Echo Communications, a unique reputation management consulting firm based in Toronto that helps companies from start-ups to multinational companies.  Heath has spoken at more than 60 conferences around the world including past CPRS national conferences to share his knowledge and expertise.  Heath has also served as a judge for the CPRS Toronto ACE Awards and national Awards of Excellence.

With her bold natured personality and innovative thinking Michelle Dias has lead successful social media and public relations campaigns for Canada’s leading brands; such as GoodLife Fitness, Loblaw Companies Ltd., and the 2015 Toronto Pan Am Games. Michelle believes that authentic storytelling is a marketer’s best tool for consumer awareness and engagement. In 2016, Michelle was named PR in Canada’s Top 30 Under 30 and received a 2017 CPRS Merit Award for IHG’s Sleep Campaign for the Holiday Inn Express brand. As the Marketing Manager, PR and Communications for IHG® Michelle spearheads marketing strategy for over 175 hotels across Canada.

Jessica has over 15 years’ of experience in broadcast, political and corporate communications. She brings an extensive media relations network, developed through roles as a Floor Director at CityTV and as company spokesperson for large organizations including the Toronto Transit Commission and Toronto Hydro. In her current role as Communications Advisor for Ward 15 Councillor Josh Colle, she provides communications and issues management support on constituency and City Hall matters.

As Secretary of the Toronto Society, she is responsible for planning and Chairing the AGM. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia and Mass Communications from McMaster University and is currently pursuing a Masters of Communications Management from the same institution.

Robin Smith is Senior Advisor, Communications, at the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, working at Toronto Pearson International Airport. A long-time volunteer with CPRS Toronto, Robin brings a deep understanding of crisis and issues management, as well as strong experience in media relations and social media. Over his career, he has worked in various public relations agencies, as well as in municipal government and public-private-partnership organizations.


Director of Research and Sponsorship / Directeur de la Recherche et du Parrainage

Dave Scholz has been on the Toronto CPRS Board for four years. He is currently responsible for the Sponsorship and Research Chairs. As well, Dave is the Co-Chair of judging for the Toronto CPRS ACE Awards and has been involved with ACE judging for 10 years. Dave is a Managing Partner at Leger, the largest Canadian-owned marketing and polling research agency, and he specializes in Communications Research. Dave also teaches in the Masters of Communications Management Program at Macmaster University and is a Board Trustee for the Institute of Public Relations.

The driving source of passion behind the team at Milestones Public Relations, Jenny has over 20 years experience in business development and strategic communications. Milestones Public Relations is a boutique agency based in downtown Toronto, and serves a variety of clients which includes regular pro bono work with established charities and grassroots community initiatives. She has served on the board of directors for the Canadian Public Relations Society Toronto for numerous years, including chairing the ACE Awards, as well as the Professional Development portfolio. As part of her mission in the communications field, she is committed to volunteerism and encouraging others to get involved to improve our professional standards and to strengthen our communities.

Sheri DeCarlo brings 10+ years of experience in working with leading for-profit, non-profit and government organizations. She has developed and implemented high-profile, innovative communications strategies to support Cabinet Office, the Premier’s team, and Ministers’ Offices, in addition to National Public Relations, City of Toronto, Rogers Communications, Waterfront Toronto, and Amnesty International. Her work has involved developing and managing marketing initiatives, product launches, and special events for key projects, such as 2015 Pan and Parapan American Games, launch of ColonCancerCheck campaign for the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. Early in her career at the Toronto Star, she learned to effectively pitch and package stories for editors and reporters. Sheri can’t stay away from her technology fix, however far she travels. You’ll often spot her tapping away on her laptop or cellphone in the middle of a crowd.
