Susan McDougall, APR
Director, Communications
CIBC

Susan McDougall has more than 20 years of public relations experience. She is currently responsible for external and internal communications for various groups within CIBC's Retail Markets division. Previously, she was responsible for CIBC’s National Media Relations and Issues Management, and before that, National Media Relations for the Business Development Bank of Canada. Susan also spent a number of years as a Communications Consultant with Watson Wyatt Worldwide, Johnson & Higgins and her own communications firm. She has a Business degree from the University of Western Ontario, a Public Relations certificate from Ryerson University, and the APR designation from CPRS.

Susan has taught public relations courses for Ryerson University since 1996, and is a past member of IABC and the Toronto Junior Board of Trade. While at the Junior Board of Trade, Susan won the Doug Lewis Award for Outstanding New Member, the Roland Mitchener Award for Outstanding Achievement and an Award for Outstanding Service.

Susan served on the CPRS Toronto Board of Directors for a number of years, including two years as President. She is also involved in the CPRS mentor program, accreditation grading, and awards judging, and won a CPRS ACE Award for Mentor of the Year.
