Daniel Torchia, whose exposure to the public relations field dates back to his teenage years, has a balanced track record that includes experience in corporate, brand, internal and external communications, sponsorship and stakeholder relations, as well as crisis and issues management.
As Managing Director of the Toronto office of Torchia Communications, Daniel has contributed significantly to the company’s recent growth and accomplishments on behalf of some of Canada’s leading corporations.
In his capacity as Account Director for one of Canada’s largest foodservice providers, he has contributed to the enhancement of relationships with various stakeholder groups, including media. The account, which started with distribution of basic news releases, now includes issues management, sponsorship, promotions, financial communication and other PR streams. He has conducted similar work on behalf of other clients.
A measurement-oriented practitioner, Daniel helps manage efforts in support of agency clients in numerous industries, ranging from consumer to pharmaceuticals, beauty and home renovation.
Prior to joining Torchia Communications, Daniel worked in Corporate Communications at Bombardier Recreational Products, Sales at L’Oréal, and Sponsorship and Event Management at Edelman Canada.
Fluent in four languages, Daniel holds a Bachelor of Commerce undergraduate degree from McGill University with a specialty in Marketing and International Business, as well as a Certificate in Public Relations from Concordia University.
After earning the Accredited, Public Relations (APR) designation in 2005, Daniel currently devotes some of his time to support and encourage new APRs and to the broader PR community through his role as Membership Chair at the CPRS (Toronto).
Daniel is an active volunteer in the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and also tries to keep involved in the community whenever and wherever he can.
