| Shilpa is a mid-level communications professional with six years experience working in an environment that can be characterized as largely corporate.
In her current role as media relations manager at KPMG, Shilpa works closely with the Communications team to support the firm’s media relations efforts across all of Canada. In addition to responding to reactive media calls, crisis communications and drafting press releases, Shilpa’s work also involves linking strategically with KPMG’s industry marketing managers, to deliver targeted media pitches and raise the positive profile of the firm externally and in the media.
Prior to joining KPMG, Shilpa worked in the Public & Corporate Affairs Department at Sun Life Financial. She is a graduate of McMaster University holding a B.A. in English Literature and Women Studies. She also holds a post-graduate diploma in Corporate Communications from Centennial College here in Toronto.
2007-08 will be her third year co-chairing as CPRS Toronto’s PD/Networking Chair.
