President and CEO of the United Way of Greater Toronto,
Ms. Frances Lankin

When Frances Lankin speaks, everybody listens. Her track record as a passionate politician and public servant is well documented. As the leader of United Way of Greater Toronto since 2001, she has communicated her passion for social justice and mobilized Torontonians behind a vision of a better and brighter future for their city.
Frances has led United Way to establish a groundbreaking, neighbourhood-based community building initiative that spans our city. At the same time, she managed to take United Way's fundraising efforts to record accomplishments year after year, reaching more than $106 million in 2006 alone - the second largest amount for United Way in North America.

Frances' professional and personal life exemplifies the values of United Way. She is an active member of the community who connects with Torontonians from all walks of life to learn about the challenges they face as well as the progress being made in their neighbourhoods. Over the past year, she has visited countless United Way member agencies throughout the city's priority areas.
