Torchia Scholarship in Public Relations/Communications
The Scholarship will be awarded to a student who has chosen to study public relations/communications in one of Canada’s two official languages that is not his/her first language or mother tongue. The student will be entering his/her second year of study in public relations/communications at a Canadian university or college, in either a degree program or a multi-year diploma or certificate program that meets recognized standards of education. The scholarship is valued at $1,500 and is for one year only. Deadline is April 30 each year with the winner notified on or before September 15.

Doris Whiteside Award
The award, named after one of the pioneers of public relations in Toronto, is granted to students studying public relations in a GTA college post-graduate program. The award is based on a combination of academic excellence, leadership and membership in the CPRS.
ACE AWARDS – STUDENT CAMPAIGN OF THE YEAR
The Student Campaign of The Year recognizes PR students who have shown a close understanding of the principles of public relations, demonstrated through a project they have worked on. Submissions may be independent or in a group, and must be accompanied by a letter of recommendation from a professor or program coordinator. Please note there are two categories within this award:
- Student Public Relations Campaign of the Year
Purpose: Recognizes a student or student group for excellence in communications planning and program execution.
- Student Public Relations Communications Plan of the Year
Purpose: Recognizes a student or student group for excellence in communications planning.
LEADERSHIP AWARD: PUBLIC RELATIONS STUDENT OF THE YEAR
A student may enter themselves, or be nominated by others. This award will be presented to a CPRS Toronto full or part-time student graduating in 2015 from a CPRS-recognized program who has a solid academic standing and a demonstrated interest in professional development. The award is designed to attract, encourage and reward future talent. The winning entrant will be awarded one year student renewal fees for CPRS Toronto Student membership as well as entry into all CPRS Toronto professional development and networking events (some restrictions apply; award is non-transferable).
